In search of fall color we take a drive down to Frontenac State Park

Mostly farmland on the way down.

With spots of color off the road

Once you get to the park the view is art

Worth taking a walk through the woods

then setting a little to contemplate the view.

On the way home, drive by the big river to see the last cold sail before winter

Susan,
Your pictures are wonderful. A slice of all things that are beautiful in life circa 2009! Congrats to Steve for selecting Ely, MN as his college town. I love that place,,,it has so many T-shirt and art shops. Yes, it would be wonderful to do a road trip with you up there...
Also, great to have you road trip down here. You can stay here at the Ranch (well, it's a ranch house) and we can talk til Kingdom Come. We won't be going anywhere for a long time...Roy has to find a new job first, so will have to earn vacation weeks. I, however, can finagle (finnaygull, phinnaiggel) time off from guitar lessons, since I am my own boss. SO.....maybe we could plan for a springtime or thereafter trip to corn country in Illinois for the Brousseau's. You could come to Snuffy's Prairie and take some photos there, too. Plus I would LOVE to go to Ely and listen to Steve play guitar!!! This is my first blog, so I hope I am doing and saying the right things. As Winne the P. said, Ta ta for now.
Love,
Peggy

Paul points out that he's the one who picks out the best views and angles for the pictures - he's the artist!
